Alternative Education for Calgary from August 31 – Enrolments open 1st April!

The BUSY Group, an international not for profit organisation dedicated to positively impacting communities through education, employment and skills development, is excited to share a major milestone for alternative education offerings in Calgary. From the 31st August, 2026, The BUSY School Calgary will open for students entering Grades 10, 11 and 12 for the 2026–27 school year. Enrolments will open 1st April, 2026.

What The BUSY School Calgary Offers

The BUSY School is a student-centred alternative for young people who prefer a more personalised and flexible approach to complete high school and move forward with confidence.  
  
Students and families can expect:  

  • Smaller class sizes, with time for individual support 
  • Flexible learning, including on-campus and off-campus opportunities  
  • Consistent wellbeing and learning support to ensure students thrive
  • Clear pathways into further education, training or employment  
  • No cost to families, with essential learning materials provided  

Information for Families on Enrolling at The BUSY School, Calgary 

Enrolments will open on the 1st April with school commencing from 31st August 2026. In the coming weeks, we’ll share detailed enrolment steps and further information on what families can expect in the lead-up to opening day.  

If you’ve already submitted an Expression of Interest or Parent Declaration, you’ll receive priority updates as enrolment opens. As we move from planning to delivery, we invite you to work alongside us to create practical, meaningful pathways for students. Partners can be involved in several ways:  

  • Work experience and placements: Short blocks or day-a-week arrangements that fit business operations  
  • Industry talks and mentoring: Guest speakers, workplace masterclasses and career panels  
  • Site visits and job shadowing: Safe, structured exposure to workplaces and roles  
  • Apprenticeship and traineeship pathways: Support with pre-apprenticeship preparation and local hiring pipelines  
  • Co-designed learning opportunities: Projects and skill-building aligned to local workforce needs  
  • In-kind support: Equipment, tools, PPE, training materials or resources that strengthen practical learning  
  • Referral and wrap-around services: Partnerships with health, counselling, housing and financial support providers
